Posted - 27/09/2011 : 15:17:53 There was a pair on Ebay I was bidding on but my current bout of man-flu put me to sleep and I missed the end of the auction & was out bid! Soooo...I need a 7 & 1/4" bongo head to fit the smaller of a pair of matador drums. I don't mind what cosmetic condition as long as it has no tears. Pretty please??? |

Posted - 21/02/2012 : 08:04:02 One huge project I want to get scrapped this year is the trip that I took to London in 2009бн I just now got around to printing physical photos that I can use. Baby steps, right?

Posted - 09/10/2011 : 18:37:17 I took the good Capt's advice and made one up from a vellum off cut. Works a treat! Thanks Capt!! |

Posted - 28/09/2011 : 17:04:41 Ta. I have found these on Ebay too...but again it would be an "uneconomical repair" as my insurance firm like to say! |

Posted - 28/09/2011 : 08:20:45 He might have an off-cut going cheap. Bongo heads do not usually need a full tuck like snare drum heads. When I got Eddie to lap a snare drum head for me I did so because I do not have the skill and experience, but I bought an off-cut of vellum for my bongos and did the job myself. Soak the head 20-40 mins until soft and pliable, lay it flat, put flesh hoop on it with about 2" extra all around, pull the extra over at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, place loosely on drum and use fingers and or pliers to pull the rest through as you gradually increase tension. It's not too difficult and if you muff it up start again until you get it right. Thomann might stock made-up heads, and Potters of Aldershot might also be able to help: http://www.henrypotter.co.uk/ |
