My band has had an offer from the rehearsal studio we use to record there (it's not a recording studio) and they've made it sound very tempting at £180 per day.

However, before we leap at it I know it's worth doing a sanity check. Does anyone have any experience of any 'affordable' recording studios in the South-East that are worth checking out?

Thanks :-)

Been through it a couples of times years ago. Sometimes worked in Margate and Canterbury, and for a while rehearsed in a village hall in the sticks near there.

Cheers Trev', it is, got my Lava Lamp and my RGB Led lighting to create a nice ambience, light an incense stick and hey presto, instant vibe....

Looks great, wish I had space for something like that! The background photo is amazing: since I was last there, there has obviously been a fair bit of development going on in Minster.

Main thing is, price and attitude I guess, I just hire it when I am not using it so can be ultra flexible, just a sharing kinda guy..

Dave Boulden at DR Studios in Sittingbourne has done some good stuff that I've heard: http://www.drstudio.co.uk/

He's a friend of mine. Move the faders and pan wheel to have a look around :o)
Prices are always negotiable so best get in touch if it floats your boat.

http://www.soundart.co.uk/ Out in the countryside, off the A2 between Faversham and Sorting Bin. Does B&B too.

Viv is a great fellow. I recorded 2 CDs with my old band there (The Fabulous Fezheads) and they are now working on their 3rd. Viv is a nice fellow, knows his stuff, and a good musician. He has good ears and is willing to advise and offer suggestions, but always without pressure to follow his opinion.

Er, Sittingbourne,
