Posted - 04/03/2012 : 22:06:51 Just got back from a rehearsal at Stage 2000 in Dundee and the kit supplied is a Mapex Saturn; pretty good thinks I, and it performed exactly as expected. But what I didn't expect was the snare: A Peral Omar Hakim signature model. Bloody marvellous it is too: I'd almost (Thats almost) be tempted to purchase one.

I'd claim that Omar gave me the snare after my stint with Chic but I'd be lying but it would make a great Ebay storyline along with RARE!!! |

Posted - 05/03/2012 : 10:17:42 Perhaps I need to be traveling from Edinburgh to Dundee for rehearsal Gaz! All the Edinburgh-shire studios appear to allow people to dance on their drum heads wearing stiletto shoes and then over tighten or remove every bolt on the kit
I have had the pleasure of hearing Omar playing his snare at a couple of wee gigs, close quarters, no mics. Sure sounds good when he plays it! |
