Hello people, I am looking for some inof if thats OK? I have inherited some cymbals and i am trying to Identify them.
The Zildjian stamp does not have the words Avedis on it, any ideas what this means? Will try to up load a photo soon.

Yep, I'll throw my vote in for an EAK.... I have one identical, 18" EAK Jazz ride, sounds great, pretty complex and trashy. The EAK's all have the larger print K and were made soon after Zildjian made the move to the states, still keeping a lot of the Turkish methods ie. I believe they're hand hammered. (feel free to correct me on any of this!) They do tend to be more desirable as they're considerably rarer than your usual K. |

I agree - Early American K. I have an 18" Crash/Ride like that and it's great, and absolutely different to the modern ones. The big K underneath is an indicator too.

I think that's an EAK - early American k - which if memory serves would make it early 80's.
If it is - then some people think they're better than later cymbals and pay a premium - but not many people! |

If it is a K, it will obviously not have the word "Avedis" on it.
Thatīs just like a Vauxhall wonīt have a Ford badge on it.
