Posted - 23/03/2012 : 13:31:37 Yep, I'll throw my vote in for an EAK.... I have one identical, 18" EAK Jazz ride, sounds great, pretty complex and trashy. The EAK's all have the larger print K and were made soon after Zildjian made the move to the states, still keeping a lot of the Turkish methods ie. I believe they're hand hammered. (feel free to correct me on any of this!) They do tend to be more desirable as they're considerably rarer than your usual K. |

Posted - 23/03/2012 : 13:20:21 I agree - Early American K. I have an 18" Crash/Ride like that and it's great, and absolutely different to the modern ones. The big K underneath is an indicator too. J. |

Posted - 22/03/2012 : 06:47:21 I think that's an EAK - early American k - which if memory serves would make it early 80's. If it is - then some people think they're better than later cymbals and pay a premium - but not many people! |

Posted - 21/03/2012 : 10:58:55 If it is a K, it will obviously not have the word "Avedis" on it.
Thatīs just like a Vauxhall wonīt have a Ford badge on it.
You can get quite some info here:
