Went to see Stiff Little Fingers on Saturday and the support band was Spear of Destiny.

Mike Kelly who drums for Spear (and The Mission) has 20" hihat set up:

To quote him "#8206;20" heavy k ride on the bottom, 20" k trad finish ride on the top on a Dw 9000 cable hat"

This creates a BIG hi hat sound as you can imagine. Took a while to get used to it but they really go with the kind of music the band play.

Didn't Ronnie Vannucci use 22s on some Killers stuff?

ok, time for me to pop the 2002 24" on the bottom and my Giant Beat 24" on the top, now just gotta find somewhere to sit...

My hi hat stand has trouble letting the top of my 14" quick beat up in time (despite tweaking the spring) I cant imagine how hard it is with a 20" cymbal on top.

One of the very bands that made me believe we could actually make a band ourselves.

Thanx, Stiff Little Fingers!

Have heard of some big band drummers using 18s back in the day but 20s, wow!

Don't know if there is any studio stuff, found some live stuff but hard to tell on camera phone recordings:
