Went to my 1st Rugby League match last night and although my team lost I had a great time.

Anyone else like Rugby League?

The NRL is a great spectacle to follow as is the (just completed) State of Origin series.

The fitness of 'League players is incredible.

Origin was brutal this year, some massive hits, so good to watch, but really highlights the gulf between Southern / Northern Hemispheres

My old band had great bookings for Saracens every season: entertaining the crowds before matches and at half-time, and banging drums every time Sarries had the ball. Expenses, food and drink vouchers, hospitality, sharing a changing room with the cheerleaders and dancers, and some great matches.

It's vastly better than it used to be in Eddie Wareing days. I'll happily watch it if there's no Union on, but I'm not sure I'd go to a match.

I'll watch it every now and again. It bores me a bit compared to union, but there's no doubting that the players are completely hard as nails. Prefer the southern hemisphere league when I do watch it, usually guaranteed a good dust up during the game.
