Posted - 08/07/2012 : 21:19:29 Has anyone any solution to this? I've a roc n soc moto stool on the Gibraltar base (also fits on my premier 4000 base).
However, it is impossible to stop it spinning. I don't over tighten anything, but after maybe 10 minutes, the seat will just rotate.
Anyone gt any simple suggestions to stop this?
Ideally I want to change to a Silverstone, but am worried it will do the same, plus there did seem to e some problems with delivery a while back. Anyone know f they will be at the NDF this year? |

Posted - 14/07/2012 : 15:20:53 I like my top to move.
If it's the threaded bit spinning in, I have a couple of Jubilee clips next to each other to set the height. Works perfectly.

Posted - 14/07/2012 : 08:59:38 I'd add as a stool the Silverstone has been fantastic and it's been much better for my dodgy back. I just hope Sean is in a better place and had sorted his deliveries and communications out. |

Posted - 14/07/2012 : 08:54:10 The Silverstone has the Gibraltar base on it which does the job perfectly. RnS base is poor just a tune with a bolt. I suspect you'd struggle for it not to slip other than tightening the arse out if it. You could but a gib base and replace the existing one. |

drilled a hole myself in the bases for two roc n soc seat tops I have and it worked out really well. |

Posted - 11/07/2012 : 03:54:49 I have a Roc n Soc seat on a Gibraltar base. You're right, the screw does work loose, it's a rubbish bit of design which lets the whole thing down.
I found that a narrow strip of gaffa tape in the recess in the seat post helps a lot because it gives the screw something a bit softer to bit into. The drilled hole isn't a bad idea. |

This seems like a good idea. I got rid of my Roc n Soc for the same reason, and I now use Gibraltar tops, which have a locking collar, rather than a single wing bolt pin-type mount. J. |

Posted - 10/07/2012 : 09:50:12 Been totally happy with my Silverstone seat. Took a while to get to me but it was well worth the wait. No spinage on my Canopus (essentially a Gib) base. |

I can understand why based on what's happened in the past and what you've heard, but I'd still highly recommend them as a product. You can't really go wrong buying one in stock at a show. Don't order. |
