Posted - 14/05/2012 : 20:23:30 As some of you may know I removed my mid Tom and mounted it in place of the high tom and added a boom arm to the bass drum for my ride
I have been thinking about using the high Tom again and mounting in onto the left hand cymbal stand or using a dedicated stand for it, I won't ever remove my ride from the bass drum now as I just love to ride down on it
What's the best way to mount it, my toms have the optimount system |

Posted - 15/05/2012 : 05:28:55 I tried mounting high tom off a stand and it worked for me quite well. And i usually do that whenever im in a practice room as all you need to take along is a clamp. However for my kit in the house i did get a tom stand and do find it to be a great improvememt for me. |

Posted - 14/05/2012 : 20:29:33 I too like the ride over bass. If I still wanted two up top, I'd mount one off the cymbal stand, same is if you had three up. I like three up when I'm playing more metal than grind stuff, just for a change really. I've managed to mount the extra one on a snare stand too - but if you have very shallow toms you may not be able to get it high enough. |
