I type this and I don't know what the numbers mean. I'm relaying this from a mate who wants to start drumming and has been looking at these two set ups. Any ideas as to whether one is better than the other in value or sound?

Thanks.

Ed

No idea about the Alesis Im afraid and I'm guessing I'm not alone, hence the silence.

I do know that the Yamaha won't let you down.

Alesis or Yamaha?? Are you serious?? Yamaha without question. Yamaha electronic kits are all professional standard, even the DTXplorer and DTX500. Alesis are OK but not on the same level. comparing Alesis to Yamaha is like comparing a Mini to a Ferrari!!

The sounds are cool on the Alessis but the pads are very noisy. Build quality is better on the Yamaha, I'd go with the Yamaha overall.
