A mate is getting married, the daft oaf, and as I've been dicked with the task of being "best" "man" and organising his stag do it's going to be straight forward and as pain free (for me ) as I can manage. This means beer and curry. It's going to be in Brum and so I'd like to ask for recommendations for a decent curry house in the town centre. We're (hopefully) staying at one of the Travelodges in the centre somewhere.
I know this is really Josh's area of expertise but I thought I'd throw it open for suggestions.
Any recommendations ?

| Al Frash isn't strictly in the town centre - if you guys can stomach the 5-10 minute taxi ride then you won't find a better curry house type place in town, but I can recommend places in town too. |

Not exactly a "beer and curry" place, particularly for a stag do!
If that's what you're looking for, Dave, there are quite a few good upmarket Indian restaurants in town, Itihaas, Asha's, etc.
By the way, it's Lasan, not Lasans! |

A41 Statford Road. Sparkbrook.
It's outside of the City Centre but here and Bradford is where it all started.
Make a Stag do of Historical and Cultural significance. |

That road, along with Ladypool road and the one joining them is called the Balti Triangle. Al Frash is on Ladypool Road. |

Spearmint Rhino! Dave, not quite a curry house, but your mate should find it hot!!, I'm led to believe it's Hagley Road and not far from Broad Street, so it's close to city centre, perhaps you should give it a miss if his future father-in-law is invited, a lads good night out, or so I'm told.

If you do end up at Al Frash, and I sincerely suggest that you do, just remember o get the beers from the offie down the road, as they are not licenced.
As for Spearmint Rhino, save your money and me Scary & Wendy B will entertain you for a fraction of their prices |

Dave,
Remember the Al Frash is dry so you'll need to take you're own ale. |

These guys can f*ck right off. Why ? They have auto playing music on their website. DO NOT WANT. And there's no way to shut the b*stard thing up either. Instant tab close, byeeee.
That other one, Itihaas, looks very nice.

Heh, that's like walking out of a curry house because they have spelling mistakes on their menu.
The question "Where will we ever eat?" comes to mind. |

My problem is that I can't see what they have to offer because I can't shut their site up. I'd happily wander in off the street to sample their food.

Well we ended up going here : http://www.itihaas.co.uk/ And I have to say it was bloody great. And I ate far, far than was good for me. Especially since my food processing capability is now down by about 20% I reckon. I was stuffed as a very stuffed thing that's just eaten a tiny, wafer-thin Mr Creosote.

On my recommendation, I hope!
Itihaas is a great restaurant. I do miss being able to go there. |
