Just recieved my car tax form,soIthought I`d do it straight away as we are going away before the end of the month into early May. So gets the online Ugov thing up (I`ve used it before)and there seems to be an additional number required, that of your V5C Registration certificate.
So it took a while to find said cert. and the bl***y site timed out.
So I started again, put in the correct numbers and the stupid site said it didn`t recognise my details as I must have put them in before the 5th April? The Chuffing form didn`t arrive till today the 13th(maybe it`s summat to do with Friday the 13th )
I`ve come to the conclusion the the Ugov site is as useless as the prats in Westminster. I` ll do it when I get back at some post office that actually does car tax. If its late its late.

Rant Over.

You should only need the number from the reminder. It worked for Mrs Prog t'other day.

As someone who is prepared to have a grumpy rant about almost anything these days (?!), I have to say that I've used the on-line system for renewing my road tax for the last couple of years, and it's worked fine and been really quick.

Sorry you've had problems, Stomper ... sometimes it just works out that way.

The only Govt 'on-line' thing that ever works is the vehicle RLF.
I have to do a few every year and its never failed me yet.

So did as I was bid Sorted. Must admit I`ve never had trouble before, still it gave me chance to complain about the powers that be.
All calm now and enjoying a brew.

Ahem, RFL.

Yes - great site, never failed me. You do only need the reminder reference, for future use.
