what do you want to hear in a cymbal sample?

if possible I like to hear it with a kik and snare, to get the relative volume... a bell hit, top of bow, bottom of bow shank and loud crash...

I want to hear the bad cymbals, I am sick of companies just letting us hear the good stuff.

I wonder if the guys from Paiste slip the odd 2002 sound into the '101 brass' sound files....

Ride pattern with a kit played at different volumes.

They always spent a lot of time crashing them, but I'm normally most interested in the stick and wash.

Bell it cool, in fact riding the bell, edge and lots of different parts of the bridge.

100% NOT SELLING Yamaha DTXplorer Module, 5x ddrum triggers, mesh heads and Yamaha E-cymbals.

I like to hear the cymbal, firstly in isolation. Single strokes to bow and then bell, followed by a typical ride pattern again on bow or .
It's then also nice to hear a kick and snare added.

Try mycymbal.com
Plenty of HD vids for most models from most (but not all) of the major manufacturers. Even some of Matt Nolan's work there too.

Hanging is too good for a man who makes puns. He should be drawn and quoted

Mmmmmmm, DeeDubs and 2002's

Yeah, I love that channel! You can sometimes get an idea of how good the cymbal is just by how much the drummer gets into it. There was a 20" Agop Dark Crash that the the guy demo-ing absolutely loved.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
