Has anyone here had a chance to try out the Zildjian AE set-ups?

I really want to try these out but don't want to spend over £700 and then find them not fit-for-purpose. The application I'm thinking of is in church with my acoustic kit. People complain about the cymbal volume levels and this might be a way of controlling that and ensuring a balanced sound with the mic'd drums by getting them through the desk.

Anyway, has anyone tried them or does anyone know a way of giving them a road test without shelling out nearly a grand for the privelige?

As long as the pa is good they should be cool, the onboard bit is only really sound shaping, not like on an electric kit where you can radically alter the sounds but as a replacement for a regular cymbal set thy should work fine. Don't know anywhere that would let you road test a set but several places have them on demo.
