I dont know the guy but he's been trying to sell that for about a year now. It crops up on Gumtree every so often. Methinks he should lower the price a bit!!!!

The last one on ebay went for over US$5000 and the seller showed a pic where he thought the shell was out of round...

He's a bit expensive, but not that far off...maybe the cost of a nice set of vintage Prems :)

That drum will never sell at that price. There is no real market for these in the UK, and only a very limited one in Europe. The market for these drums is the USA, but no one in the USA (Even the hardcore Link era Sonor collectors I know) will be willing to pay almost US$8000 plus postage and import fees.

If the seller really wants to shift this drum, there's only one thing to do: Low start and no reserve.

It's fair to say he is overpriced. And given his start price, I would think it is safe to say that he is in no dire rush to shift it...But as the last one sold was located in South Korea and (probably) sold in the US as it was litsed on US eBay and the second highest bid was $5000, if I was selling it I don't think I would be starting low with no reserve :)

Recent ones have gone for $5000 or so, but with the current exchange rate that's just shy of £3100, so yes, it's hugely overpriced, probably by at least £3000. It's also a fairly scruffy drum, the plating needs attention on most of the lugs and hoops and the shell is marked.

Even the sonorholics on the museum board think this guy is a dreamer.
