... especially when mixing - but I didn't realise you had to watch them carefully as well !

I was just admiring my recently purchased near-field monitors whilst listening to a mix in progress and something I kind of subliminally observed made me reach out at just the right moment and catch one as the mini shelf it was on gave way

They are heavy little buggers I know but I was sure the shelf fixings were strong enough !

Off to the DIY shop it is.... .... well it will be an excuse to grab a cake for elevenses as well

The legends have it that when EVH was in recording the solo for Beat It, one of the studio monitors caught fire!

I'd have believed it if it were a Who / Keith Moon session !!

Anyway... all is good........ Shelves are more firmly fixed now

....... but more importantly there were still some Caramel & Chocoloate Choux buns left in Sainsburys !

In all the Los Angeles studios, they take the monitors down and put them on the floor before they go home at the end of the day.

what monitors are you using? I have the yamaha msp5's. they are tiny but weigh a ton!

ADAM A3X's. Just "warming them up" at the moment but very pleased so far. Size of a small pet, weight of a breeze block !
