Morning,

Anyone here ever played the Sound of Music?
I've been asked to do it in the middle of May and would be fairly confident playing shows so long as it is only kit and maybe timps - tuned percussion is a no-no!

What is the score like? Tough?

Cheers,
Peter

Boring, music is easy, loads of bars rest so I made it up, tastefully of course. MD was delighted.

The Geordie contingency. I feel sorry for people who don't drink because when they get up in the morning that's as good as they're gonna feel all day!. dw, yammy x2 ,TD8, sabian, zildjian, paiste, protection racket.stella artois, red wine, gin & tonic (lots).

Pizza how did this go? What was the chair like? I've just been offered playing percussion in a fairly sizable production of it over the summer. Did ya enjoy it?

It hasn't actually started yet, dress rehearsal monday then show to saturday. Had a band call on sunday past, was a shambles just because we had nowhere to practice and when we did get somewhere i only had space for a snare! Looks ok though, only 1 tricky piece really and its just a few odd time sigs - keep a good eye on the conducter and listen to everyone around you and its ok though!

I wasn't really paying attention to that! Plenty of timp rolls etc and some tuned just doubling what the piano will be playing - but i'm leaving all that out. Timps on floor toms and that'll do!
