http://www.drumshack.co.uk/buy/3510/0/-2/2nd-hand-mapex-black-panther-black-widow-14andquot-x-5andquot-snare

http://www.drumshop.co.uk/buy/yamaha-stage-custom-14-x-55-snare-drum-pre-loved.htm

The place I practice has a truly terrible snare drum, so I've decided to branch out for one of my own, on the basis that I'll always have use for another snare drum.

These two have caught my eye, just wondering on you guys opinions, if it helps the sort of music my band plays is pop covers/light rock.

Thanks in advance!

New ones are only £50 more but that does look to be in excellent condition, if a little wet!

Yes I found the rain drops slightly concerning!

Would you say you notice a big difference in that and the Yamaha snare I posted, considering the difference in price?

I would pay the extra. The Mapex is in a different league.

I'm tempted you know, it sounds like the Black Panther is a good line of snares (you can probably tell I'm not too clued up on these things), so I'll likely use it an awful lot in years to come.

There is a big price difference, but you won't regret buying the Panther. I have a steel and a walnut and don't want anything else.

I have a maple Black Panther with the birdseye outer ply. They're a good solid line of snares with a reasonable price tag. I reckon you'll love it!

Thanks for the help guys.
