Just wondering how you can say any of the teams who have already played look average.
Some of Spains football was just beautiful to behold, Italy look strong in a different kind of way, Germany also, Holland will probably come good.
Compared to us they are a class above, their players look considerably more comfortable and confident with the ball, their off the ball movement as well is on a higher level. |

When we have a team good enough to compete for a trophy I'll be shouting from the rooftops about or chances but at the moment I'll keep any optimism to one side.
Turned the Ireland game off after about 70 minutes, couldn't watch any more it was awful, did Croatia make Ireland look poor or did Ireland make Croatia look good? |

| I watched the first half, I thought Croatia looked pretty good tbh. Got a cheeky fiver on Croatia winning the tournament, an impulse bet. Just had a feeling they'd be the surprise package... |

| I thought the Croats were the better side but by christ, The RoI were unlucky not to have had a penalty. Felt for Shay Given with his own goal and Irish were twice within a whisker not to have snatched a draw. They did well, fair - do's. |

Be nice if they surprised us, and themselves. I get the impression that Hodgson is seeing out the 'old guard' in this one. Then try and build his own team from the new crop coming through, or not |

I watched both games. OK, there were brief bits of good football in the Spain/Italy game but on the whole I though it pretty boring -- probably the Italian slow-style side of things. They know how to fall over, too, those Med types.
The Ireland/Croat game was more entertaining end-to-end physical stuff for me. Feel sorry for Givens -- a couple of mistakes but some great saves too. Shame about the tw@tish ref. |

I know i am a fecking mad England fan been in fights because of it.
Even if we lose i will still be saying we will win the next World Cup ive always been the same i would rather get behind them then call them.
If it was not for the debt we was in i would of gone South Africa and Poland but there was no way we could afford it but France is looking good ok its in 4 years but i am already looking forward to it.
