| Watched a program about her on Channel 5 this morning, I'd never heard of her before. Quite inspirational stuff, small town girl making it big with nothing but her songs and a guitar.... not really my cup o tea but quite impressed with her story. |

Quite liked Mr. Rock'n'Roll when it first came out, tried to like her stuff but cant I'm afraid , her voice grates on me a bit and I find her music a bit simplistic sometimes ie-one chord sequence ALL the way through a song(This is the life,Slow it Down) I can appreciate her "journey" though |

She doesn't look bad for her age, but I preferred the blonde hair

Hmmm... Interesting replies.
I'll quote Myles Copeland: "Who is more successful; the perfect, technically competent musician, or the one who writes catchy tunes?"
Status Quo did well on 3 chords. Time to dig out the guitar.

ah the old Quo chestnut. Write down how many you can actually play then, wont be many. They are harder than they seem! |

I know; same with AC/DC, Rose Tattoo etc. But as you said, the old Quo chestnut has become quite the urban legend.

Miles Copeland? Sting,Squeeze,REM are some of the folk he's worked with. I would have said they were all perfect technically competent musicians writing catchy tunes. |
