1 is 1 in any number base. I think you meant "10"
And that newspaper page isn't big enough to hold anywhere near as much information, coded or not, as a regular newspaper page. Especially as they don't seem to have any bytes starting with a 1. Pretty much every 8-digit word up there would map to just a single letter. Maybe it does say something, albeit short. Anybody good with ASCII codes?
