Hi guys
This topic is to find out what snare drum sounds are most popular in the drumming community. This is part of my dissertation for university and would be greatly appreciated to get some responses from you guys.
If you could please fill in this questionnaire, that would be brilliant http://kwiksurveys.com?s=MLNIII_b53c9960
Thanks a lot, I look forward to seeing your responses |

The thought that drumming is no longer a musical activity but an academic subject to write dissertations about depresses me. And does an opinion poll count as a dissertation?
No offence to Matt-musician-drummer intended. (However, if Tony Blair reads this and is mortally offended, that's a bonus.) |

How does the latter negate the former?quote: And does an opinion poll count as a dissertation?
No, it's research which is an important part of a dissertation and always has been as far as I'm aware. |

Not done as the survey won't accept clitoris for sensitivity.
BTW, who are you?
Why ask for the survey?
This site needs a more robust joining routine.

I'm all for new members; but making this the OU percussion research centre?
I feel as violated as Sapienza by the knights templar.

+ "clong" when you rim shot, "chuck" when you cross-stick it, "swish" when you brush it, and "ouch" when you bring it down smartly on the guitarist's head for tripping over your stands once too often.
Yup, I too feel it is a bit rude to make your first post here asking us for information, without giving us some idea of who you are and what your interests are. |

The latter doesn't necessarily negate the former, however, it is a completely unnecssary adjunct. Remember Tony Blair's "education, education, education" speech? He decided that he would use the tax revenue from the financial services industry to increase spending on education massively. As a result lots of non-acedemic subjects suddenly appeared at colleges where you could get a degree for studying them. The evidence that this has been beneficial for anyone other than the staff employed to deliver the courses is very thin on the ground. Then it turned out that the financial services industry was a bogus money-inventing scam and the tax revenue evaporated leaving behind nothing but huge debts. However, having racked-up spending on education so much, it has become very difficult to bring it back down to sensible levels. BTW, in the process, degrees have become massively devalued due the fact that everyone has a degree now. That's what depreses me. |

Degree's became massively devalued once people realised you can simply Google all the answers / research. Or in this case - wop up a questionaire on the web and hope that people will fill it in for you.
I guess this is a new and more valued spam than the guys trying to sell purses. At least this might lead on to an education. |

I suppose that depends on your definition of education. |
