This kit comes with snare, sticks, stool, pedal AND a cymbal!! I think it's a far better deal

"Any questions please just message me"
My question, as with so many similar ebay items, is why are you selling it?

"Here we have my amazing RT custom drum kit.
Acrylic with orange hardware. Only had 6 months. This kit was custom built to my specifications and it us the nicest kit you will ever play."

If it's so fantastic, why are you selling it? If the seller only said he needed the money or the space, at least that would be a reason. Without any reason given, the reader is left wondering if it's actually a load of rubbish that the owner wishes he'd never bought.

Does he need a reason to sell it and what business is it of ours anyway?

My guess is, it's too embarrassing to gig with. At least the spongebob kit would raise a smile.

I "kinda" like it, or at least I've seen far worse, remember the one with rope around it? Yuck.

As a potential buyer, yes, I think it's a valid question. Obviously shops sell kits to make a profit, that's what they're in business for. Individuals sell things for all kinds of reasons, one of which is to off-load total junk. I think it's reasonable for a potential buyer to wonder what the reason for selling is, especially if the seller says something like "absolutely fantastic, mint condition, only been used for 5 minutes etc. etc." Yeah? So why sell it?

Could it be that the owner has changed bands, and the orange hardware clashes with the new bands colour scheme?

Maybe but why not just email the seller and ask, he doesn't need to justify his sale to anyone really.

It's not that bad. In fact for the right price I'd e quite tempted. As long as there was budget left for re powdercoating the metalwork. I also thought RT customs were quite well respected?

I guess the hardware could be stripped and re-chromed and then find some nice wood shells for it, might look ok then

No, he doesn't need to justify anything. However, it's just not good sales technique to leave the potential customer with doubts in his mind. Skillful salesmen sell a lot more than unskillful ones and they do it by making the customer feel good about the purchase, not by simply plonking something down in front of him and telling him it's great.

LOL he's a kid trying to sell a drum kit, not a car salesman selling a Porsche.
I just think it's a bit naff taking the mickey out of someone who doesn't list an item in a professional or correct manner.

Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion on kits, and I know that a see through kit with orange hardware is definitely not top of everyone's list, but the guy liked it. Apparently he has changed bands and is now doing acoustic stuff, an has already put down a deposit for a new kit from us (RTCustoms) so it's nothing to do with the quality.

I also agree that he would stand a better chance of selling it if he mentioned this fact (and the remo thing doesnt help haha)

Putting depths on the shells would help.

To be fair the only thing I dislike it the orange. You could re-chrome the hardware and have something pretty cool.

Rich, please don't think my comments are in any way putting down the quality of your drums. I know how good they are first hand. You like many custom builders have to do as the customer asks. I bet you raised an eyebrow at the colour choice.

drummerNick, no of course not, no offence taken at your comments. Like you say, we do as the customer asks. I think this kit would appeal more to the younger generation,I would have loved it 10 years ago, now I like it, but would never own it. You would be surprised at how much I raise an eyebrow at the requests we have been having recently. I dont know whether thats down to me getting old, or the influence SJC are having on the custom drum scene, but the kids want some crazy stuff!

monkeythedrummer, yeh its easy enough to strip the hardware back to bare metal and do anything with it.

Update for you all, I've been & had a look at this kit and it does look very striking, not at all what I thought by the pics, I did find
myself looking & then looking again but I must say it does look good. If I'm honest I wouldn't have bought it but personal taste is just that.
