In case anyone's missed this in Off Topic, I've had some 1" forum badges made for distributing at SITMS. It was decided not to make any t-shirts this time in the hope that everyone ordered an official one instead

These highly desirable, limited edition collectors' items of the future will be £1 each, with all profits collected going to the MS Society. They look like this: http://tinyurl.com/csucu89

I (drummer no 14) will wear a red version so that that you'll know who to look out for, but seeing as it's likely to be fairly busy (nearly 850 drummers milling around) I've conscripted Original Animal to give some out too. If you've not met him before, he won't be too hard to spot. Look out for drummer number 17, a 6'3" bleached blonde gentleman with dangly earings and a black kilt. He'll be keeping the badges warm for you in his sporran . As we're both in the 8am entry gang we should be somewhere at the front.

Awesome. Look forward to seeing you guys on Sunday - should be great!

P.S. Add red stilettos to OriginalAnimal's clobber, unless he wimps out and proves once and for all that they don't exist...

Fen, you are the guy that looks exactly not like Prog any more?

I will be the baldy guy behind the wee Jungle kit with the Aubergine on the bass drum head. If any forum members spot me please come say hello.

Don't get there for 8, unless Doc has a low number, 'cos they won't let you in.

BTW, Ian, I'm now taking that little kit you kindly sold me so you'll be able to get reacquainted if you so wish, mate.

I am hoping the locals can point us to a nearby Wetherspoons for a breakfast pint or three, and badgers badges will be available whilst I drink

Thanks Wendy

I remember Gerry asking for suggestions for a name for the character on the the logo a couple of years ago. I don't think anything was settled upon. I'm tempted to call the m 'Purple Peter' badges. Unlike Blue Peter badges, they will be able to get you thrown out of selected venues across the UK.

I'm going for the smallest kit that I can get away with this year, but I think a cow bell is de rigeur for this event, I'm really looking forward to it now

Lifted from the original email:

We appreciate that some of you will be travelling with fellow drummers who may have a range of different time slots. If this is the case please feel free to arrive together. This is not however permission for everyone to arrive when they like. The thought of 850 drummers all arriving within an hour of each other is giving us sleepless nights!

Well I've just had a count up and, after deducting the cost of getting them made, we made about £23 for SITMS. Many thanks to everyone who bought one and to Phil and Wendy for helping to sell them. I'll send the cash in with my sponsorship form. There are 50 or so left so they'll be on sale again at the NDF and the Mikedolbear.com stall at the London Drum Show. As the costs have been covered, all future sales will go straight into the charity pot .
