... of playing this neat little Olympic kit.

Shown here with a Premier cymbal holder I picked up recently on Ebay - one of a pair. Nice.

Sure looks good. Years ago i had a Grey Silk Twin Europa set with a mix of both Birch and Mahogany shells and it had an added 14 floor tom. The 14 tom was the sweetest drum ever whilst its big brother the 16 was a dog, no matter the heads or tuning it always sounded cr*p and i never worked out why. It's one of those kits i wish i had never sold apart from the 16!

Resonators and Ufips....just beautiful. www.vintageolympic.co.uk

Rotocasting is definitely the pinnacle of cymbal manufacture!

If you check the whole album, you can see this one's been a bit of an ongoing project, as some of you know... I rescued it from a garage in Chester a few years back. 12, 13 toms, 14 floor tom and 20 bass, plus chrome snare. It looks like it started life as a Europa four-piece, before a previous owner added a 13" tom and a second tom holder.

I later added a 16" floor tom and replaced the original 12" tom as the finish was badly scuffed.

I have to say the 16's OK on mine, but the 13" took a bit of patience to get it sounding anything like. The 12" however is sweet as a nut. And I've always loved this finish.
