| When they wanted Fiona to go for a medical because she was off work looking after Jordan did it for me. They had her in tears a couple of time's because of it and to think what she was going though. |

But it's ok, because it's 'tough love'.

Chris Grayling was being so slimy last night, making out that he is the Champion of Disabled people who have been "denied the right to work and written off by bureaucrats". This may be true of a small minority, but what about people who cannot even walk to the nearest bus stop to get to a job? Squeak was NOT "written off work" by heartless bureaucrats who wanted to deny her the right to work, she was struck down with a nasty bone/joint condition.
Both C4's Despatches and BBC's Panorama highlighting (in very mild terms) a few of the flaws in the system on the same evening, and the programme is clearly out of control, ill-conceived and riddled with chicanery and deception.
The Atos trainer in C4s programme was full of, "we don't make the decision, the Decision Maker does so we don't have to feel guilty".
The Nazi gas chamber operators were similarly trained to avoid questioning what they were doing, "only following orders"....very disturbing indeed. |

If 3 million unemployed cannot find jobs ...where will these job openings come from once ATOS and the Govt decide that you can work?
It seems to be a matter of shifting claimants from one benefit to another and achieving zilch?
The money paid to ATOS is more than is paid to claimants.

| Exactly! And the Appeals process alone is costing £45,000,000 a year. |

You were right about Chris Grayling pretending to champion the cause of the disabled.
I know many disabled who are working quite happily, but Grayling is insinuating that they are victimised by employers by denying them work.
I know many able bodied that they put to shame. |

Unfortunately these draconian methods gain some support by folk who don't have, or rarely come into contact with genuine disabled people. They only hear about the ones swinging the lead, having a job on a building site etc. while claiming disability. More needs to be broadcast about the genuine people getting their benefit withdrawn.

The other point which Vogons like Grayling, Iain Duncan-Cough and The Eton Trifle do not understand is that there are perhaps 2 or 3 million able-bodied people looking for work so why would many employers choose a disabled person over one who is fully able-bodied?
One Atos assessor was laid off last years perhaps she had physical problems, bad joint problems if I recall. After being on benefits for several months she was called in for her WC Assessment at Atos, and was classed as fully fit for work by the same company that sacked her for being disabled. You don't have to make it up! |
