Hi all, I've used Stagg cymbals over the last two years, SH & DH. I play professionally full time, and have used Sabian, Zildjian etc. I have to say, I have found the Stagg's excellent. But I really am wondering if it's me? A lot of people slag them off, but I play for a living and wouldn't play anything I thought sounded crap. So I'd be really interested to know if you bods out there have had good or bad experiences with Stagg? |

| You'll find a lot of members here have had good experiences with Stagg cymbals. I wouldn't have bought any if it wasn't for people on here going on about them! |

I've had a few SHs and DHs, I now have a DH16", SH 18", DH 20" C/R and 13" DH Soundedge hats. I think they sound great. I've not had any top-end Zildjians or Sabians to compare them to though.
Will be after a big DH china when I've got some cash, currently using a Meinl Classics and it's not really 'massive' enough for the rest of my setup. |

| I think I sold you those DH Bite hats Shark? I thought they were great cymbals for the money, or even just great cymbals! Not my taste, but good all the same! |
They've done studies you know. 60% of the time, Leggomen sound good every time. |

| Yep they're the ones. Doing some recording in a couple of days with them, I've used Z-Customs for all our recordings before (the studio we used had them knocking about), I reckon these will stand up fairly well to the task though! |

| I fairly recently switched from Sabian (hhx, aax) to Stagg (DH, Exo, Furia) and I'm delighted with them. |

| Thanks for your replies guys, it's very interesting to see how people are actually switching to Stagg from makes like Sabian etc. As I say, I think they are awesome, especially for the money. :) |

| I have heard that Stagg Furia range are really, really good. I keep meaning to invest in a couple but I've never got the available dollarage. |

| I bought 3 SH splashes and an SH China Splash for dressing my kits for exhibition and thus protect my decent ones from risk. They are the cheap range and not as refined as higher quality cymbals, but very good for the price, and I regularly use them for jams, gigs and recordings. |

Great cymbals. I've some DH Exo's, a SH china, DH splash & china splash.
Must admit to removing the Stagg logo on all of them though - it looks crap! |

| Amongst many Stagg cymbals I had a DH 18" crash.. I forget the full name, may have had brilliant in it. Seemed very thick, loud as hell. Certainly a product of their inconsistency which I hear they've sorted out now. Happy accident though because it was a beast of a cymbal! Why oh why did I get rid.. |

That's the only thing, isn't it. Love the cymbals but the logos make them look crap! Lol! |

They are good, but a very unusual sound. Depends what your taste is I suppose. |

I think the sound is very mainstream, on mine at least.
Of course, if you've only ever played Turkish-style cymbals, Chinese-style will feel a little different. |

| ermmm, I'm loving my 14" medium and 15" thin crashes. had SH hi hats, 20" SH rides, etc etc, all very good, but you have to sort the wheat from the chaff..... but find the right ones and you won't be disappointed |

I bought a Stagg DH 15" Crash to go with the rehearsal kit.
Not too expensive if stolen, broken etc.
it's Ok in a dry washy kind of way but it ain't a patch on the AAX. Not even close.
Get what you pay for methinks.
Drums can be improved with better heads, dampening, tuning even sticks but cheap cymbals always sound cheap to me. I'd maybe take a punt on an effect cymbal but not a crash, ride or Hats. |

| Each to their own ofc, but I find the DH Exo to be every bit as good as my AAX-Plosion. |
