Anyone have a go yet with the new Evans Black Chrome heads? From what I heard so far on youtube, they do infact seem to have a nice punch and deep sound. Evans seems to be coming out with heads at a very fast pace ! I havent even heard much about the G-14 Heads yet !

Not for me. Each to their own of course, but the dark, thuddy, dead sound favoured by many does nowt for me. I like lively, long, clear sounds. In my experience the drums sound lower in pitch out front than they do in the saddle anyway, so I go for clarity, tone & cut.

I have to say, I didn't like the sound either. I thought it killed the drums and made them sound lifeless and very thuddy.
