Hi, I have a Highwood Lite in WMP, theres a few wrinklesin the wrap on the kick drum, can I do anything to fix them apart from a re-wrap?

How old is the kit? Is it still under warrenty? I would contact Highwood and ask for their advice.

As a side note to others who may not realize, keep drums well away from heat sources ie radiators, sun etc and also floor lights at gigs which are the main offenders.

If a lampie throws Par Cans on the floor by your bass drum, keep them well away from your kit.
As for certain moving lights... even further away as they will burn a hole into the shell.!

Shut it and whack the poxy things!

I bought it 2nd hand so not sure of age, but as theyre the original run of Birch/Poplar shells I think its about 2006, so no to the warranty. I think it"ll be a wait until I can afford to send it back to Highwood for a re-wrap. Maybe some vintage looking black ripple next time!

Don't talk to me about wrinkles and wraps! I was booked a few years ago to play an outdoor gig at a local church. It was the induction of a new vicar and the band had set up on the grass area in the church grounds. That very week I had just taken delivery of a brand new Premier APK kit in black wrap (from TPS in Hinckley) and was keen to see how it performed on its first outing. Unfortunately (for me anyway) the sun came out and stayed out long enough to completely ruin my brand new shells. As I sat their playing, I could see the wrap on top of the bass drum blistering away as was the mounted toms and the floor tom on the sides facing the sun. I felt physically sick as I watched my new kit 'melt'!
