If i gave you a job that as soon as you where doing it everyone will know you and want you for pictures and signing stuff. You could not go out doors without people coming up to you wanting stuff. Must of the work you do is at weekends so all your mates will be at work when you are off.
You get paid loads of money but would you really like that kind of life as i would hate it.

I think you have to adopt the right mindset
Some get thrown into this situation and handle it well, others don't

I have been close (except for the money) and it can be awkward, eg: when in Germany I was spotted by a number of people that knew me in venues, bars and even the tram!!

Now it's limited to the Jobeky show, NDF & SITMS

I have no time to practice, I'm gigging. Leicester Drum Sniffers Anonymous. #17 of the 582 & 17 0f the 798 World Record Holders.

If what you're referring to is being a famous musician...

I love the idea of playing to 80,000 people week in, week out but I'm not keen on the 'celebrity' stuff. And to be honest, I'd probably end up with a massive coke habit, completely implode and wreck my life and the band...

Thats about the be all & end all. Mental attitude.

Through my father I know some quite well off and successful people; everyone I know who has worked for what they have are generally just like the bloke/bird next door but with better shoes.

A person close to Mrs F won the lottery; (And not £10) he kept a level head on his shoulders, shrugged off the nasty comments in the street along with the threatening, extorting and begging letters. Moved to a more upmarket area and got on with it until his passing. His wife on the other hand took everything to heart and drank herself to death. I **** you not, she was downing 4x 1.5L bottles of Smirnoff a day. One could handle the pressure, one couldn't.

And remember, if you're doing a job where you only work at weekends and your mates work in the week; you're social circle will change and you'll just get new mates.

I would love to play for Forest. Hardly famous, very good wages (compared to what I'm on now at least), and an average crowd of 20,000-odd.

To be fair, given last season's performance, I could probably get in the team...

All perspective has gone out of football

It's the clubs that pay the wages, so players are more concerned with performing on that stage than internationals

Yes, the pressure to perform week in week out is immense, but if they screw up, they still get paid.

Tis time that players got paid on performance only!

But they wont.

Musos go out every night of the week and perform at their best (ok Olympics excepted) and they work for the money they earn.

Compared with having no money and no fame? Why do you think there are so many talentless wannabe celebrities littering the tabloids? I wouldn't know any of them, footballers included, even if they introduced themselves. They are of no interest to me.
