which roland cymbals are compatible with a TD 8, and which are not, I'd be grateful for any imput.

Black Country drum technique = Gi'e it sum 'Ommer!
Tama, Gibraltar, Mapex, Ludwig, LP, Meinl, Sabian, Zildjian, Dream,Roland & Jobeky.

Everything except VH12 or VH13 hihats is compatible in some shape or form. If you want to use a 3-zone ride it doesn't work in the same way as a newer module but there is a workaround...

Can you mix and match Roland and Yamaha pads?

Generally, you can mix and match any pads although there are a few proprietary exceptions. Most pads just send voltages and resistances. Most modules just read voltages and resistances. Which are you considering using?

Without modifications will the Yamaha PCY-135 head and rim work with a Roland TD6 module? I don't need the bell.

I've tried using the PCY 135 through the trigger input of the SPDS which I would prefer, however when I hit the bow (body) I get the edge sound sporadically too.

I've tried different settings to no avail. Is there another way to stop this? Thanks.
