I know this has probably been asked 1000 time already but...I need some advice please on decent IEM's with loads of bottom end that won't break the bank.

Cheers.

When you talk about low end is it to hear your bass drum? or the bass player?

Good in ear monitoring and cheap are two words that don't go together. I use the Westone UM2's shall driver and they're around £200.

I use the Etymotic ER4's and they are awesome! Get great sound and can hear the whole band clearly in my mix if wanted. Haven't tried putting drums though them as I normally have a wedge as well to give my kick drum some punch etc but if you want me to give it a shot I'm quite happy to and will let you know the results.

I use Alien Ears and they have been great. You can get a set with extreme low end that I know of, but I've never used them, preferring instead standard triple drivers. Although they're an American company the wait time and response time is still good, a friendly and informative service. My only problem is that the cable has started to go faulty after a couple of months use, although hopefully this is just a one off.

Jalapeno, cymbals, percussion. Oh, and a cowbell.

Unfortunately its not a one off. My cables went after a couple of months which was about 5 gigs. They were my second set of alien ears as the first set fell apart! I treated them with kid gloves as well. I have to say it found the customer service to be appaling, so much so that I would certainly not recommend them:(

Shame, the sound quality is very good. I've just emailed to see what they're going to do.

@mwdrums Might be worth looking at something none custom, like a set of Shures? Never used them personally but I've had a few friends drum with them who are impressed. http://www.shure.co.uk/products/earphones/se315

Bruno. I wouldn't hold out much hope, although I'm sure they would be only too happy to sell you a new cable!

If you want some generics I can highly recommend Ultimate Ears Triple-Fi 10's. They are ace.

If you can afford to spend a little more I would say get JHAudios. I have a pair of JH16's and they're absolutely amazing!

Jim.

Vic Firth, Remo and Sabian. Buy their stuff!

Probably about 18 months ago. I literally had used them for a few gigs, always putting them back in their case afterwards, never pulled them out by the cables etc. The cables on mine suddenly started only working in mono? both ears would work, but only the right side signal transmitted through both ears. A bit of a pain in the Arris when your click is fed to the left side! Andre was adamant that it was my problem and he would take no responsibilty for replacing them. I even offered to go 50% but he was having none of it. He would only replace the cables at full retail price. Out of principle I didn't buy any, and will never give him any more business. Probably means nothing to him to lose a small customer like me, but to coin a phrase, sh*t sticks!

Thanks for the advice guys!. I've managed to pick up the Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10's. I think the 3rd driver will make all the difference.
Cheers.
