I've recently acquired a rather nice Premier Artist set in bop-ish sizes. The length of the spurs on the bass drum is insufficient to allow the use of a riser, which I prefer with 18" bass drums.

They really do seem incredibly short. Does anyone know if there are longer spurs available?

Failing that, if someone could measure the length of the spur on a 22" Artist bass drum - from centre of the swivel wing-bolt to the tippy-tip of the pointy bit, that would be most helpful.

14 inch from tip to the back end of the mounting block. ie: past the centre of the swivel wingbolt, probably 13 to there. Fully extended.
Try an Artie Dixxon riser. ADC have them. A little lower, the drum just rests on it, no adjustments. But it is easier to position the pedal away from the hoop if needed which I needed for a direct drive pedal.
Tried it on my 22 once and yes, the spurs did seem a tad short.

Sitting on top of the mountain isn't the most interesting bit of the climb. Sitting at the bottom aint much fun either.

The ones on my 20"Artist are only just long enough to raise the front hoop off the floor.

The ones on my 20"Artist are ridiculously long, when they are retracted all the way the front of the bass drum is about 2 inches off the floor

Mid life crisis kicked in, drum kit bought. It's not quite like cycling though, you forget. A lot!
